Babe’s Micro-Brewery is the only place in the Coachella Valley that brews right here on our premises. Our brewmaster monitors every step of the process. It’s worth all the extra effort to make sure that the Babe’s beer we serve on tap is up to our standards – and your discerning taste.
We win awards for our connoisseur-lovers' beer
Babe’s started competing in beer competitions in 2002/2003, winning three medals at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) and five medals at the Los Angeles County Fair. In 2004, Don Callender pulled the plug on competing in beer competitions to focus more on the restaurant, but by 2009 we were back competing because we’re just so proud of our brews. That year Babe’s won five medals at the 2009 Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition, taking a Gold medal in the Black Lager category and besting beer giant Samuel Adams, which took the Silver.
Babe’s continues to craft brew beers that coincide with the unique desert climate and we welcome all craft brew enthusiasts.
Take the tour and taste test for yourself.
Coming in at just over a half million dollars, Babe’s Brewhouse is a beautiful, custom JV Northwest 10 bbl. brew system with hand-hammered, aged cooper exterior, four Fermenters and five Serving tanks. Its monstrous functioning matt silo stands tall next to the restaurant’s entrance and holds 15,000 lbs of malt. See, it really isn’t just a distinctive architectural landmark!
We’re happy to give brewery tours 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., December through June (we’re closed Wednesday and Thursday) or July through November (closed Sunday & Monday). Just call ahead for groups of eight or more.
